Suddenly a lot of talk at work here in Chicago and in our work flyers and BNSF TV about the heritage of BNSF. including a short video honoring the fallen flags of BNSF. BNSF TV Is flat screen televisions full of news about BNSF and safety even top news stories weather and sports scores in the crew rooms. There is a lot of talk about BNSF suddenly being proud of their heritage. I'm crossing my fingers. And hoping they do a blue and gold Santa Fe locomotive :P interested to see what this "heritage project" will unveil.

Would be great. Hope they follow NS's example with using REAL paint schemes if it happens

If they do decide to do any in the near future, they will probably let the NS heritage fleet excitement die down so they wont look like copycats and/or not get full attention.

Let the NS excitement die down, plus they'd have to repaint all the BN and ATSF units, as here in Spokane most of the local power is still warbonnets or BN green.

UP still has a lot of SP and SSW power still painted in their original schemes but most are are patched yet they did 6 heritage units. There's still some unpatched SP units still roaming around and the CNW twins. BNSF doesn't really need to repaint all the remaining BN and ATSF power to have heritage units. I am crossing my fingers too if BNSF does this down the road, but it depends on what the railroad chooses.

Guys, who is Matt Rose, purely out of interest? Im guessing in charge of power? He's not a big 'crank' or railfan then?
I'd like to see an SD70ace in Great Northern 'big sky blue' personally pluss a red Burlington GE maybe.

I thought BNSF already made it clear that they werent doing heritage units....

I hope they dont Id rather see them just depatch a few BN and ATSF motors hehehe. If they did however change their minds I hope the BN unit is a CASCADE GREEN and not that butt ugly executive scheme.
