I updated the data for this unit to reflect that it was later re# KCS 3164 as one of the many "adjustments" to three plans.

Thanks for the roster update.
I wish I hadn't been such a newbie to train photography in 2005 to 2007. I have photos of almost every KCS locomotive in use during that period, but many of the photos just won't work. Things like weather and obstructions didn't bother me the least bit LOL.

Well Bryce, they might not be perfect for LocoPhotos, but *everything* (especially in the digital age) is worth one frame if for nothing more than a reference. In my work on the KCS renumbering I used many sources, and many photos that were pretty much useless, but in many cases I was unable to find better ones to compare various units. Shoot everything !

I find the trucks under that unit rather interesting.
Looks like those were early triple clasps (note the "bunny
teeth" between the axles) that were converted to be similar
to the later HTC with snubbers.
The down-turned brake piping is somewhat non-standard as
well, I think.
